- Teen Fitness Class had nine girls participate.
- Water Aerobics averaged 10 participants per class.
3rd Quarter
- Memory Retention Class had eight people sign up.
- A fall Teen Fitness Class is scheduled.
- Five additional classes have been added to the schedule.
- New staff member just started.
- Average daily attendance between second and third quarters was down from last year; but not as much as previous years.
4th Quarter
- Cardiovascular Health Class scheduled for Prevention through Wellness series.
- Personalized Exercised programs scheduled.
- Holiday Gift drawing, kids in training, walking club will all be returning in the fourth quarter or early next year.
Director’s Report:
- “Flex into Fitness” program was cancelled because of lack of registration; returned to signing up for fitness programs as individual programs. Fall program postpones until week of October 3.
- Bids for the pool and fitness center will go out in October. Mike would like the Department to operate the pool for at least one season and see if “in-house” operation is more economical and feasible. Having a contractor handle the day-to-day operations does add a level of safety when it comes to liability issues. Jeff is seeing a lot of companies starting to use contractors. Commission would like to see a comparison in numbers for us to operate the pool versus a contractor. If there is minimum difference, commission will consider the department operating the pool; a large difference they will consider the continuation of using a contractor.
- CPM survey shows comments regarding the bathrooms. Although not numerous, maybe we should institute a sign off sheet for each hourly check.
- Next meeting will be October 27th at 7:30am.
